In the world today, the power that news agencies and other mass media exercise is tremendous.

The International Press Committee in a Model United Nations simulation is a specialized body that mirrors real-world media organizations covering global events. Its role is to report on the proceedings of the conference, create news articles, photography, and art that capture the debates, negotiations, and resolutions of various committees.

It functions as an investigative, versatile and important form communication between the United Nations and the global population. The International Press consists of a body of news agencies, broadcasters, and the like, who has their form of liberty in informing, and deliberating about events occurring in the United Nations.

Delegates participating in the International Press Committee assume the roles of media personnel, rather than representing countries like traditional MUN committees. They cover the actions and decisions of other MUN committees, creating a dynamic and immersive environment that reflects the relationship between global events and media coverage.

The International Press is a crucial component of Model United Nations. The International Press serves as the eyes and ears of the world, and its reports help to shape public opinion and influence policy decisions.

Worldwide, the press is responsible for maintaining the link between people and the happenings of the world. Similarly, in the committee of International Press, the members are required to maintain the link between delegates and the actions of the other simulating committees.
